Happy Together // Drag Fantasy in Chinatown
happy together 春光再現
PRIDE DRAG SHOW
Drag fantasy blooming in Chinatown. Expect intimate flirtations, close whispers, cultural sensations, and a full house of Asian excellence ~ all at the city’s newest queer space: The Closet (555 Gore Ave - Venue in Pony Room).
Hosted by your favourite (closeted) Chinese lesbian immigrant drag king, Yuen Young (yes, still in the closet…).
✨ Featuring special guest: Queen Kong ~ Lipsync assassin, leggy lady, never see her without lingerie, this international diva is our fresh import from Hong Kong. Not only does she’s lipsyncs but she lipsyncs, and also does a cartwheel here or there ;)
Not only you will have the best time, by coming to this event, you will also support Chinatown Together, a community-based organization resisting gentrification, building intergenerational connections, supporting seniors, and providing accessible, free public events in Chinatown, DTES and Strathcona.
July 18th
-> Doors at 6pm
-> Show at 7pm

New enterance! We are now using 555 Gore Ave enterance, same room, different door. Let’s go back to the closet, and be happy together <3
This event is being held on the stolen, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh-ulh, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. As we live and organize queer space as settlers on these lands, we have an obligation to continuously work to repair harms perpetrated upon Indigenous communities.
Please note that this space is located up 18 steps with handrails on each side. Washrooms are all genders.
